ABOUT DR. DESAI
Four times named ‘Best Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon’ by his peers in a Richmond magazine poll, Dr. Sanjay Desai has been a reconstructive hand, wrist, and elbow surgeon at West End Orthopaedic Clinic’s Henrico location for more than 12 years. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1980 and George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1984. He received a Meritorious Service Medal & Army Achievement Medal for participation in Operation Desert Storm, and his professional memberships include the Virginia Orthopaedic Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has performed extensive reconstructive surgery of the wrist and hand. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
